2002 Tamil Blockbuster ‘RAMANA’ is to be remake in Hindi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali with the King of B Town Sharukh Khan in leading role.
The Story of Ramana passes a powerful message against corruption many filmmakers were after it to acquire its rights amongst which Sanjay Leela Bhansali succeeded.
It is also reported that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was not very eager for a south remake after he made a remake of Telugu flick Vikramarkurdu as Rowdy Rathod. But when somebody recommended him Ramana he watched the film and was so impressed that he decided to do the south remake again.
Though Ramana is nine years old it is still relevant to the present conditions.
As per the sources the director of the remake of Ramana will be A.R. Murugadoss who is the director of the original movie too.
Ramana has also been remade in Kannada and Telugu. Shooting of Hindi version is planned to June.
